Topics for argumentative essays

These are the topics I suggest for your formal essays. Take a clear position, and research about the topics trying to get information for both points of view.

Sex education should be increased in schools in an attempt to curb problems such as teenage pregnancy.

Animal experimentation should be permitted.

The death penalty should be mandatory for people that kill or rape other people.

Should we do more to deal with the problem of domestic violence, or is the problem exaggerated?

Does access to condoms prevent teen pregnancy? Or does it lead to irresponsible, dangerous, or bad behavior?

Do violent video games cause behavior problems?

Should creationism be taught in public schools?

Should the military be allowed to recruit at high schools?

Does age matter in relationships?

Should gay couples be able to marry?
