Project

P – Ss work in groups to research and prepare a poster presentation on an unexplained phenomenon. Ss need to present Facts (concrete situations or data about the mystery), Theories (speculation or possible explanations by authorities on the field) and their own conclusions. The posters should contain visuals and texts. On presentation day, Ss hang all posters on the classrooms walls, and take turns explaining the topics while the other Ss read and listen.
Optional: Ss can also make a Powerpoint Presentation and upload it to the Icpna web page

Project

P – Group Work. Ss will search for a song’s lyrics containing grammar structures studied in class. Lyrics must not contain offensive or foul language. Ss will hand in a set of documents as written proof of their work. These documents include: the lyrics of the song chosen (with the examples of language they found properly highlighted), a pre-listening activity for the rest of the class to familiarize with the grammar point(s) in question, and a while-listening exercise for Ss to work on during the song’s playing. Additionally, Groups will photocopy and distribute the pre-listening and while-listening exercises for the rest of the class. Groups need to find the song in Youtube, and make sure it is available, so it can be played on the day of the presentation. The groups members are in charge of leading the class, giving instructions, checking answers, answering questions during their presentation. This is considered as part of the grade.

Project

English Version
P – Ss will draw a family tree and talk about their families: what their relationship is, where they live, what they do, etc. The tree will be on a sheet of thin cardboard or a sheet of paper. The tree will include small pictures of the family members (Ss can use printed pictures or photos). The members of the family to be included are grandparents, parents, and brothers or sisters; more people may be included, but a max. of two addtional members. The day of the presentation, Ss will show their poster and talk about their families, describing some routines and facts of their lives. Optional: Ss can also create a powerpoint file as a family tree (following the format described above) and upload it to the icpna web page.
